Karibea’s Expertise Goes International at the 2026 Martinique Gourmande Festival in Canada

From September 8 to 19, 2026, as part of a collaboration with the Martinique Tourism Authority, Martinican cuisine takes centre stage in Canada for the 19th edition of the Martinique Gourmande Festival. This year, Ruddy Nonone, Chef of Le Dôme restaurant at Karibea Valmenière Hôtel, is taking part in the adventure, bringing the expertise of our teams beyond the shores of Martinique.

Held under the theme “The Taste of Sharing,” this year’s edition particularly reflects the values of knowledge-sharing, connection and conviviality that inspire the Chef’s cuisine and the entire Le Dôme team.

From Martinique to Montreal: Cuisine Made to Be Shared

Throughout the culinary festival, Ruddy Nonone will take part in several key events in Montreal dedicated to discovering and sharing Martinican cuisine.

His programme will include meeting the teams at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and working alongside its students.

It will be a special opportunity to share techniques, inspiration and expertise, while introducing a new generation of hospitality professionals to a vibrant, generous and creative approach to Martinican cuisine.

This experience perfectly embodies the spirit of the Martinique Gourmande Festival: building connections through food and turning our island’s culinary heritage into a true platform for exchange.

Le Dôme Restaurant at Montreal’s Marché Créole

On Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, Ruddy Nonone will also take part in the Marché Créole, one of the highlights of this 19th edition.

The programme will include culinary preparations, making accras batter, creating and preparing recipes, as well as tastings and conversations with visitors.

It is a wonderful opportunity to bring the flavours of Martinique to Montreal and introduce Canadian visitors to some of the defining elements of our culinary identity.

Behind every dish is also an opportunity to tell the story of a destination — its ingredients, traditions and the creativity of the people who bring its cuisine to life.

Karibea’s Expertise Beyond Our Hotels

Through Ruddy Nonone’s participation, Le Dôme restaurant and Karibea’s culinary expertise will also be represented on the international stage.

Located on the top floor of Karibea Valmenière Hôtel in Fort-de-France, Le Dôme offers cuisine inspired by Martinique’s local produce and culinary heritage, while giving creativity and carefully selected ingredients a central place.

The Chef’s presence in Montreal is therefore an opportunity to extend this philosophy beyond the walls of the restaurant: sharing an experience, passing on techniques and helping showcase Martinican cuisine to an international audience.
